Funeral Workers Fight In Hospital Over Rights To Cremate Patient Who Is Still Alive (Photos)
A Chinese hospital recently witnessed a brawl between staff from two rival funeral homes who fought over the rights to cremate one patient. The patient had been sent to the emergency room just minutes before and was still being resuscitated when the fight broke out.
The shocking incident took place in a hospital in Dalian, eastern China’s Liaonin Province, on December 3, reported People’s Daily Online.
Police said there were a crowd of people waiting outside the emergency room when the patient was sent to hospital by ambulance at 7am, the report said.
However, none of them was the family members of the patients who were being treated, added the police after they watched the surveillance footage.
Police said these people worked for the local funeral homes and they were waiting to find business.
The fight broke out when doctors were trying to save the newly arrived patient.
The police were called to the scene after the brawl broke out.
Officers arrested seven suspects who were involved in the fight and gave each of them a 15-day detention.
