Ahead of Saturday’s legislative rerun election in Rivers State, the All Progressives Congress has said that it would not fold its hands and allow the Peoples Democratic Party to intimidate its supporters with violence, vowing that it would be an eye for an eye, the Punch reports.
The Minister of Transportation and APC leader in the state, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi; APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun; and the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Mohammed Ganduje, who spoke separately at the party’s mega rally in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, said they would not be at the receiving end of any form of violence during the election.
Ganduje, who is the Chairman, Rivers State Election Rerun Campaign Committee, told APC supporters to take cover and shoot their opponents if they (opponents) pulled the trigger during the exercise on Saturday.
Amaechi, in his remark, said, “It is an election of our lives. If you allow them to shoot you, you will die. This election is an eye for an eye. Do not kill anybody and do not allow anybody to kill you.
“I don’t want to hear that they snatched result sheet from you; if anybody takes the result sheet; please, collect it from him.”
